The Board would like to thank the fans for their continued patience and understanding in what has been worrying times. Considering all that has gone before and the cost implications of the voiding of the 2020 Betfred Championship season the club would like to propose to season ticket holders the following options.
Option 1. We would appeal to the fans, if possible, to donate back to the club on a pro-rata basis the outstanding balance on their season tickets. The club do not make this plea lightly, however, a full refund would cost the club up to £20,000 on season tickets alone. Saying this the club fully understand that there are fans that may not be able to afford to do this and the club fully appreciate that. Fans who confirm this in writing will have the option to purchase a 2021 Challenge Cup final ticket for only £10.
Option 2. For those fans for whom option 1 is not possible season tickets for the 2021 would be discounted on a pro-rata basis for the 2021 season. In a sense a “rollover”. The timeframe for contacting the club on options 1 and 2 is the 31st of August 2020.
The club will be in contact with its commercial partners in due course.
2021 has the potential to be another difficult year financially for the club. The season ticket loss and commercial losses: in advertising, sponsorship and reduction in central funding, could result in up to a six figure drop in income.
We would like to finish on a positive note, we hope to announce the first new addition of Gary Charlton’s 2021 Betfred Championship squad next Wednesday.
T. Todd for and on behalf of the Board of Directors.
